    Undoubtedly the most famous attraction in Jordan is the Nabatean city of Petra, nestled away in the mountains south of the Dead Sea. Petra, which means “stone” in Greek, is perhaps the most spectacular ancient city remaining in the modern world, and certainly a must-see for visitors to Jordan and the Middle East.

    Place & Time

    You should schedule your stay very well because this spectacular event is only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tours start from the entrance at 20.30h and finish at 22.30h. Tickets cost 17 JD per person and can be purchased from the Visitor Center.

    Although you must go inside together with the group, if you are lucky, everybody will be silent as recommended, while walking through the candle lit Siq so that you can feel the mystery of the place.

    At the Treasury you sit on mats on the ground and listen to the traditional Bedouin music played on their special instruments , The night is complete with the traditional Bedouin mint tea, to a nice warm up to cherish the experience you had with this great event Petra By Night!

    The visitors will gather at Petra visitor center at 20.00 to join the Guide at 20.30 for the night tour.

    Trail

    The night show starts from the main entrance of Petra Archaeological park through fabulous monuments lighted by candles as The Triclinum , Djin blocks , Dam and the Siq to reach finally one of the magnificent monument in Petra which is The Treasury.

    Photos

    After a short music program, visitors wander among the lanterns, snapping pictures and conspiring to stay behind for a few moments of tranquility before being gently ushered back into the Siq. The entire experience, including the walk back home, is magical.

    The guide will join you back to the visitor center where you can get your transportation to your hotel.
