Petra By Night
Petra By Night is a one-of-a-kind experience that brings the ancient city of Petra to life after sunset. Founded in 1998, we have been sharing the magic of this UNESCO World Heritage Site under a blanket of stars, offering visitors an unforgettable journey into the heart of Nabataean culture.
Our mission is to connect people with the spirit of Petra through a harmonious blend of storytelling, tradition, and technology, while preserving the soul of this extraordinary place for future generations.
Who We Are
We are a team of passionate local DMCs who believe that Petra is more than stone – it is a living legacy. With deep roots in this land, we are committed to sharing the beauty and history of Petra through immersive experiences that respect its heritage and ignite the imagination. Through every candle lit and every story told, we strive to create moments of awe that inspire a deeper connection to Petra’s past and its future.
Petra by Night, PSC is owned and operated by three local DMC partners who founded the concept in 1998. We hold the TM and copyright of the experience.
Sustainability
Petra By Night is dedicated to preserving Petra’s cultural and natural environment. We work closely with local authorities, archaeologists, and sustainability experts to ensure our events respect the fragile ecosystem and ancient structures of the site.
Our sustainability efforts include:
- Limiting environmental impact through energy-efficient lighting and sound.
- Reducing waste by minimizing plastic use and promoting reusable materials.
- Supporting the local economy by employing and sourcing from the Petra community.
- Educating visitors about Petra’s heritage and the importance of conservation.
We believe that sustainability is not just a practice, but a responsibility, one we carry proudly for future generations of visitors and Jordanians alike.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. Petra By Night partners with local authority, cultural institutions, local guides, and tour operators to enhance the visitor experience and support community development.
