The heart of the celebration took place at Petra’s iconic Treasury, where light and projection mapping transformed the ancient façade into a radiant display of the Mexican and Jordanian flags, cultural symbols, and a commemorative 50-year emblem. The historic monument stood not only as a wonder of the world but as a living canvas celebrating the enduring partnership between the two nations. This unique evening was more than a visual spectacle; it was a cultural tribute. A Night of Light and Legacy - Celebrating Petra’s Place Among the New 7 Wonders On a magical evening beneath the Jordanian stars, we illuminated the iconic Treasury of Petra in a dazzling celebration - marking 18 years since Petra was officially recognised as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Since that historic moment in 2007, Petra has continued to captivate millions with its timeless beauty, intricate carvings, and the awe-inspiring legacy of the Nabataeans. This year, we honored that recognition the best way we know how - through light, storytelling, and reverence for this cultural gem. As the night sky embraced the red-rose city, the façade of Al-Khazneh came alive in brilliant color, echoing the spirit of Petra: mysterious, majestic, and eternal. The illumination wasn’t just a display of lights - it was a tribute. A tribute to the artisans who shaped the stone, the travelers who journeyed through its valleys, and to every visitor whose heart has been touched by Petra’s magic. Petra by Night has long offered guests the rare opportunity to see the Treasury in a different light - literally and emotionally. And on this anniversary, it meant even more. With projection mapping, traditional music, and the flicker of over a thousand candles, we told Petra’s story once again - this time, with the pride of 18 years as a Wonder.
